On Stage

A large part of what sets the Waterwell Drama Program apart is the number and quality of performance opportunities available.

Each year, every student is cast in a grade-specific rehearsal project to begin applying and synthesizing what they learn in class. The projects are extensions of that year’s curriculum and increase in scale and complexity over the course of the program, making progressively heavier demands on the actor’s instrument.

They are guided either by WDP faculty or professional directors and stage managers, and while some are focused on process rather than product, all culminate in multiple after-school performances, bringing students into contact with their ultimate collaborators: the audience.
